Best way to clean Hardie Board siding

Hello Everyone, We built a house 2 years ago and the outside is Hardie Board with red paint from Sherwin Williams. We have a horrible pollen problem here in the spring and right now you can see a white film all over the house. Last year I tried pressure washing the siding, but after it dried...

    Question about painting metal door

Thanks Joe. It ended up they're getting new doors in. They tried the paint on some temporary doors yesterday and only a few minutes after it was applied, we couldn't scratch it off. I think the primer on the other doors was bad or something. It's the only thing that makes any sense anyway...

    Question about painting metal door

Hi Olddog, No, just the paint. Well, I assume just the paint because it's white underneath. Lisa

    Question about painting metal door

Hello, We're having a house built and some of the exterior doors came pre-primed and ready to paint. (I think they are steel. If it matters, I will find out for sure) The painter painted the doors and this weekend, I noticed a small white mark on one of the doors. I thought something had...

    Blown in cellulose insulation

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the replies. I'm sorry I didn't get back here sooner. Just so busy. Anyway, we ended up running the heater's for several days and this stuff is finally drying up. We are only letting them cover what is completely dry. The house is not tight yet, so we had enough...

    Blown in cellulose insulation

Inspector, Thanks for the reply. When I say vapor barrier, I mean the Tyvek that is on the outside wall on the OSB. I'm not sure of the exact product name. I know the main company is Applegate. The wet installation.......well, that's just how it is installed, so we're told. It's mixed with...

    Blown in cellulose insulation

Hi Neal, There is a vapor barrier up and we've had a large salamander heater running for 4 days along with a whole house dehumidifier. They're assuring us that over time, this is going to dry behind the wall, but we just found out they won't put it in writing. If someone can assure me that...

    Blown in cellulose insulation

Hello, We are having a new home built and I asked a question here before and got some much appreciated help. I have another question. Let me preface it by saying my terminology may not be 100% correct, so I apologize in advance. We had our walls insulated with cellulose insulation. My...

Yep, I meant up, not down. :o I'm not sure what they're doing to the floor. They are putting a tiled shower stall downstairs. Thank you for all your information. Lisa

Making a whirlpool tub into a shower

Hi Jaz, Thank you for your reply. You confirmed what my husband and I thought, but I just wanted the tub so bad I thought I'd ask in case there was a way to do it. We won't take the chance. As for the wall in the tub/shower, I'm not exactly sure, but I think they're putting down some kind...
