This damage is close to the edge of the roof, so it's not likely someone will step on them, but your point is well taken. Thanks for the advice. I might try the end grain treatment, and then paint over that.

Well, i just coated the roof with elastomeric coating, so replacing this roof sheet is not really something I want to do at this point. Is this the end grain treatment you are talking about...

Yes, the backs are exposed, and not painted. Only the fronts were painted.

I'm about to paint the inside faces of my fascia boards (I believe that's the correct term), because only the outside faces were painted, and I was told painting the insides will help with water damage a little. But as you can see in the pics, there are areas of the roofing that are damaged...

Certainly, yes. It appears both the roof-patch and the coating are elastomeric acrylic based. But I would argue that the coating will be thinner, so will fill into cracks better. OTOH, the roof-patch can be built up thicker, and potentially stronger.

Which one is better to use with the membrane, to seal up leaks around flat-roof, low-slope skylights? The guy at the rubberized coating store said to use the membrane with the elastomeric coating I bought from him, but my neighbor said using the thicker roof-patch, or crack-sealing paste...

Mine doesn't have a chain. It's just a metal rod screwed into the handle. But there are holes at the end of the rod, so it's possible I could ADD a chain.....

Hello again, Kok328. Maybe what you are seeing is the distortion from the wide angle of the lens? (pin cushion effect of the lens) At any rate, do you think my only solution is to grind the hole larger? Again, the door appears to fit the frame ok.
