You can buy pocket door frames at Home Depot for $25. I think the frame acts as the 2x4 studs that would be there if the frame weren't. Install the track and door before the studs are covered.

Seattle, I bought a "Pro Pak" of baseboard from Home Depot. I think it was 120' for $55. And it wasn't MDF it was primed wood. It was a lot cheaper to buy the bundles then 12' lengths. At my HD they weren't near the molding they were up by the Pro Desk. Hope this helps.
