I have just completed building a 24x26 metal building with 9' sides on a slab. I want to use 4x8 paneling for the walls and ceiling but am not sure if I should install studs between the 2.25" metal wall beams or if I should use 1x4s for furring and attach the paneling to that. Does anyone have any ideas. Also does anyone know how much cheaper it is to use rolled insulation vs. having foam sprayed on?

I'm pretty sure the price for insulation varies greatly depending on what area you live in. In So. Cal., the spray on insulation is about twice the cost of the rolled insulation.

Regarding the paneling, this would depend on what type of paneling you are referring to. I would prefer to run a T&G plywood horizontally for strength, then complete the look with vertical paneling. This would provide strength, sound insulation, and full support for your overlayed paneling.

By the way, I'd love to see what you have if pictures are available!

I am not having any luck posting a photo. It is a metal building with 9' walls and beams placed 60" on center. The beams are 2 1/4" 12 gauge tubing. How would you attach the plywood? Also, what would recommend for the inside roof?

This is a photo of the inside showing the beams and supports.

Could you attach the picture again? It is not visible.
