    Sealing pipe penetrations

    My daughter's house has the 4" cast iron, soil pipe leaving the structure 2' above the basement floor. When it rains, water pours in around the pipe. We are planning on addressing the downspouts, landscaping and daylighting the pipe on the exterior, but we do not know what to use to seal around...

    OK As purchased 3-2012: Built in 1940, 25' x 25', block foundation, sitting on a poured slab. At some point someone added drain tile by cutting a trench through the floor about 4" from the wall.
