    GE Profile Refrigerator Whistling Noise

I have had a GE Profile Bottom-Freezer refrigerator for about 2 years now. I've never had a single issue with it until recently. It seems like when the fan hits a certain speed it starts resonating. It sounds like someone is blowing into one of those old candy whistles slowly but steadily and...

    Leak Under Kitchen Sink

Indeed. You've all given me a lot to think about. Much more than I thought I'd get. Thanks again for all the responses.

    Leak Under Kitchen Sink

Thanks for all the suggestions. Would the easier and cheapest way be just to get another brass compression valve like the one that's one there (assuming it will probably fail, too, as the years go by) and replace it?

    Leak Under Kitchen Sink

Recently I was under my kitchen sink and discovered a pool of water under it. Upon further investigation I noticed a moderate drip on the cold-water valve. What was odd (to me, at least) was that turning the valve on or off had no effect on the drip rate. I then discovered that the drip was...

Worth the Switch to Metal/Permanent Air Filter?

I have a 18x24x1 filter that I am thinking about replacing with a permanent filter. It seems like a no-brainer as it would seemingly pay for itself over time. Are there any drawbacks to metal-filters? If they are a good idea, what brands are the best?

Bathtub Spout Leaks Behind Spout (pics)

My wife (Of all people) suggested capping off the tub-spout pipe and putting the old spout on just for looks. I am totally fine with this. How hard is it to cap off a copper pipe like that?

Bathtub Spout Leaks Behind Spout (pics)

Yup, that's my next option. I popped it off this morning and will head to Lowe's to see if I can find a new one. If this doesn't work I don't know what I'm going to do. I imagine I may have to have to pay someone to cut that pipe off and make it, "Normal". Why the heck is that stupid collar...

Bathtub Spout Leaks Behind Spout (pics)

I tried turning it and it's not going anywhere. It appears to be welded on or something. The spout itself says, "Masco 32192" on the bottom. Unfortunately, Google isn't helping me this time in terms of finding a replacement spout.

Bathtub Spout Leaks Behind Spout (pics)

Well, it didn't go as planned. I went out and bought a, "Universal" spout...but it wasn't very universal. The pipe that comes out of my wall has this collar-looking bulge around it with a rubber-ring that prevented the spout from going on. What should I be looking for to replace the spout...

Thanks. I will give it a shot tomorrow night.

Do you think the whole spout is shot then? Like I said, the shower works fine when I pull the stop.

Bathtub Spout Leaks Behind Spout (pics)

Hello! I am in the process of trying to (learn to) fix some odds and ends around the house on my own. I had a leaking shower head that I was able to fix on my own, but this issue I am not so sure about. Whenever I pull the the stopper on the bathtub spout to activate the shower, water starts...
