    which type of cornerbead?

Hello Nestor, Actually it's been kindof entertaining debating cornerbead ins and outs. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. It seems your biggest hangup about metal is the dent removal problem so let me reiterate the best ways to do so. I suggested tin snips mainly because this...

    Wallpaper: The work of satan

I thought I would throw in my two cents here. Actually I agree with what Paper Hanger said, the best way is to first put some poly on the floor and tape it to the baseboard then dry peel off the wallpaper facing and lay the paper on the poly, peeling as much face paper off as you can. Next get a...

    Mesh over Cornerbead?

Actually mud on beads have been around for years. Usg brand beadex has been sold as long as I can remember. Beadex is a paper faced metal cornerbead that has excellent straightness and great damage resistence, but with all mud on type beads you have to apply them by sticking them on with an all...

Painting and using masking tape without that nasty bleed?

I have found that the best way to controll paint bleed is to first clean the areas free of dust and oils that are to be masked and after you stick the tape run a small putty knife along the tape using some pressure. As far as tape brand is concerned 3M brand blue i think works great.

Removing Interior Latex Paint from Doors

Hello, If you want to keep the mess of paint scraping contained i suggest you remove the doors, lay them on a couple of sawhorses, and use a paint stripper. I prefer stripease semi paste, but if you don't like harsh chemicals the are safer alternatives on the market at your local home store...

    Bent drywall

Hello, The best way depending on how extreme the arc is: For tighter radius two layers of wetted 1/4'' for more gradual wetted 1/2'' . If you set up a saw horse and lean the rock against it the sheetrock will start to relax. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    which type of cornerbead?

First I would like to say that I am extremely offended when someone who doesn't know me or my work "asumes" that all professional construction workers are out to do sub par work as fast as they can just to make a fast buck. This is simply not true albeit there are some shady outfits out there...

    Mesh over Cornerbead?

Hello, As a professional commercial drywall taper I wholeheartedly agree wit fiber meshing the bead. I have taped many, many offices, hospitals, and highrises and have witnessed hundreds of cornerbead "hits" over the years and if it were not for the mesh they would of fared much worse.

    which type of cornerbead?

Hello, Yes you could go with vinyl bead but I think metal is stil the best way to go mainly because vinyl has a tendency to "shine". Also all I do for a living is drywall tape commercially and all we ever use is metal. The way we apply it is with what is called a clench on tool but also we use...

Help with unknown wall type and unknown paint type

Hello,From your pictures I determined you have plaster walls. Plaster is different from sheetrock as it is much harder. The cracks are common to old plaster and are fixed by first taping them with fiber mesh tape, then coated with either durabond setting compound or sheetrock compound like say a...
