    Molding during winter

Hello, I have an issue with, what is to believe, molding on the corner wall in my bedroom during winter season. Its odd that I don't see it during summer but only during winter and especially at the same location every year. Now it looks like its heading to the corner ceiling. Am I right to...

    Furnace Noise during startup

Definitely looks like that. :) Nice find! However, I am going to stick with what I have for the time being. The furnace unit overall is old so if it goes I will likely replace the entire unit. I wish I had the manual for it. Would like to know if its possible to oil such a motor. :S

    Furnace Noise during startup

What is the bottom motor fan called, out of curiosity? I'll have to look and see if its a DYI thing. I would imagine I'd have to go back to the manufacturer to get a replacement if need be, correct? Its not like a general part which you can replace with another 3rd party, I assume? In any...

Hello, I have a couple questions regarding a furnace noise I'm hearing during its start-up. I notice this noise has gotten louder than what it was a month ago, loud enough to make a rumbling sound which could be heard on the main floor. After self assessing the furnace I found out the...

Add-ons for better air circulation in basement

We use the blanket type of insulation which is for comfort+batt...either R14 or R22. Yes there are studs between the concrete and drywall. I would say it is about 8ft, and there are windows. Only 1 bedroom with 2 windows. The open room has 3 windows. Well the house is pretty old but there wasn't...

Add-ons for better air circulation in basement

Hello all, I'm having a problem with mold appearing in tight spots in the basement which is probably due to poor air circulation. We renovated the basement last year, replacing all wood boards with drywall. The walls before were cold but we added some insulation to it. The floors are tiled...
