    attic insulation

I agree. That's the difference between a smart DIYer and not so. Lack of experience always equals more time to do it right. Sometimes A LOT MORE TIME. I know a neighbor that just finished his bathroom in a year :)

    Almost Took A Chill Today

So true. I just went to the Reno / Carson area and it was beautiful there. They didn't have to water things to keep them alive.

    Removing Mt. Everest ceiling texture

Green Home Improvement Resolution - Go Solar

It would be good for where I live in Las Vegas, but from what I understand the power company here doesn't buy back the electricity. Factor that with the cost of $20k - 30k I'm really hesitant to get into this. From what I understand the return on this investment is around 10 years.

    Removing Mt. Everest ceiling texture

I found a set of postings on preparing, removing and spraying ceiling texture. There is no mention of a lot of paint on the ceiling, but at least there are some pics to look at. From what I've seen on the web there is no easy path besides pay someone to do it for you :D Removal looks really...

    attic insulation

I have blown in insulation in my attic. I've seen where Home Depot will give you a free rental on an insulation blower if you buy a certain amount of cellulose insulation. Keep in mind that you will want to protect and not cover any ventilation that is under your eaves. Here is some info I...

    Hello From Las Vegas

I am a programmer by trade, but love doing woodworking and some home improvement. I do woodworking out of my garage, like most weekend warriors, with a basic set of power tools, antique tools, and what I can find at garage sales. I love coming up with designs and then building it. When I...
