Can't necessarily answer your question, but I'd be very carful about chip out as you cut. If you have a big enough table saw I'd use that instead of a jig saw, or a circular saw with a sharp blade.

Also, would this be a good time to break out the biscuit joiner?

I get what you're saying, that makes a lot of sense. When you say the wall with the window would be no problem, are you talking about installing the window or just the fact that it would be easy to insulate and add drywall? Thanks!
