    Leaking sliding door in stucco....

Um, how do they leak? Thought it was the roof but no, it's the door. Minor rot in plates and subfloor...easy fix. Found that under the laminate flooring. Stucco flush to the frame of the door, no obvious cracks. The roof overhangs by 18 inches but dead eastern exposure. I live in Sack O'...

How to "fix" a floor to ceiling doorway

Fill it in of course! I framed out the opening with 2 by 8's and pushed it out 4 inches. Thinking of doing the same to the other three closets. The openings are six feet wide as opposed to four, but it should go well.

    Floor to ceiling doors?

It seems that all the interior doors in the place went from the floor all the way up. It's a rancher built in 1970. The second to last owner framed the door openings down to 82". Not well, pretty obvious flip job, but the house has good bones and it was a REO. Gonna do standard doors but with...

    Got bored with the townhouse.

So I got a new project. It's a 1970 Linda Mar rancher in Sacramento. So far I've been running around with a caulking gun. Pictures soon.

    Bungee Cords...watch out.

I didn't. Took a good hit in the left eye two weeks ago. It's coming back but will be awhile. Lets just say I was real lucky and the doctors were real good. I'm through with bungee cords, using rope now. Just be careful with them.

    Huh?

What's up with the firearm forum banner? Idle curiosity, that's all. Wondering if HRT was part of that or just happened to be nearby. My take on guns, .......always point away from self especially if having a bad day. That and I quit target shooting, just cost too much. Even with reloading.

    Rotten cedar siding.

Been quite a few years of water running down the side of my chimney shell. (Not going to call anything wood a chimney). One side, looks like the sheathing is all mushy and the cedar siding has had it. So, once I tear all this out and do it over, do I backprime the cedar like I intend to...

When does a house feel like it's yours?

Just a question of when where you live feels like it's yours. Is it when the colour on the walls isn't beige anymore? Or does it take something more drastic, like gutting and redoing rooms? I'm the latter. I may own it outright, but it just wasn't mine until the wallpaper went away...

    Coat closet, yes, no?

I'm redoing my kitchen. It's about 8" by 9. Not a bad size but a built in pantry and coat closet grab 10 sq feet from one corner and a duct chase grabs another 4 from the corner diagonally across from the pantry. Can't do anything about the duct chase. The pantry will be replaced with a pantry...

    Hello all.

New to here but been tearing up houses for a long time. I got a small rather badly built townhouse cheap so as to have something to do. Going to see if this pig's ear can be a silk purse. I've learned the hard way on quite a few projects. But as my dad said, no guts, no glory.
