    SENVILLE mini split install help!

Okay, here is a final update. Long story short; I installed the unit myself, then I hired an HVAC technician to hook up the lines, vacuum it down, charge it, and test it. I’m loving the Senville unit (EXCEPT that it only goes down to 62* - we like 60*F for sleeping). It has saved us $$$$$ on the...

    Mogul to standard adaptor?

Guys, I hope these photos showed up (I’m Still learning!) The first picture is of one of my antique floor lamps (both have three way sockets). The second photo is a close up view of the socket, adapter, and LED three way bulb. The third photo: On the left is a “Mogul” base three way bulb (this...

    Mogul to standard adaptor?

Both floor lamps are Mogul base, three way fixtures. Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Amazon all carry three way standard base LED bulbs. I ordered the adapters, and they were delivered today. Haven’t been home yet, but I’ll let you know how they check out.

    Mogul to standard adaptor?

Steady, they are both antique floor lamps. Mogul base is a very large screw-in base. They still use them for outdoor lights (mercury vapor - ever seen one of those bulbs?) Anyway, the Mogul bulbs are still available, although harder to find. They are usually 100 - 200 - 300W incandescent bulbs...

Thank you, Joe! That is exactly what I was looking for.

    Mogul to standard adaptor?

Okay guys, I need help. I have two antique lamps which use three-way mogul base bulbs. I need a couple of adapters from mogul to standard base. I can find “single” screw-in adapters for around $5, but I cannot locate any THREE-WAY adapters. Does anyone know where I can find some? I an...

    Cut license plates

Snoonyb, this sounds like a good idea, but why from the reverse side (and do I attach the blade “backwards”?). I have a scroll saw that uses the 6” pinned blades.

    Cut license plates

Joe, I already have a good set of snips, but I don’t want to bend the metal. Besides, some of the states are small and have intricate outlines, which I don’t have the skill to do with snips. Thank you though for the suggestion.

    Cut license plates

LOL. Neal, I WILL, but it’s gonna be a while. I’m still looking for a (reasonable priced) US map (like the wall maps we used to have in school) with well defined state outlines; about 3’ X 5’ in size (MOL). Any ideas? Not sure how good it will be, but I will do my best!

    Cut license plates

I want to do a craft project with license plates, and need to cut them into the shape of their state. Any suggestions for cutting these? I don’t want to use a torch or heat; I want to keep the paint intact. Thanks!

    Post pictures?

Okay guys - I'm not very computer literate, so I need a little help here. How do I attach photos off of my iPad onto a post? Thanks for the help!

    Updating a rental

Chris, just my 2 cent's worth ... I think a lot depends on whether you wish to rent or sell. If you want to sell, I agree with nealtw. Put a "normal" roof on it, refresh the kitchen and bath, landscape a little .... and sell. If you're going to rent, you won't get any more by making a "normal"...

    Hobbies other than home repair.

Don't know what this old world has come to. :(:(:( Too bad you couldn't rig a M-80 to it to give them quite a bang if they tried that again!

I enjoy homebrewing (beer) - never was much into wine. I thought that it was still illegal to make distilled spirits at home. Where you get your still and ingredients?

    SENVILLE mini split install help!

remout, IMHO your "shack" is gorgeous. I'd love something like that if I had acreage to go with it! I wish you the best. Post again when YOU are all done! I know you can buy anything if you try hard enough, but if the information I read is correct, they aren't supposed to even sell you...

    SENVILLE mini split install help!

I agree; and thanks for posting. I got a Senville 9000 BTU for in the neighborhood of $600 on Amazon (maybe $700; I forget). Research showed good reviews and it seems to be a really good unit. Comes pre-charged with R410a, and the compressor is made by Toshiba. I will mount the inside unit, cut...

    SENVILLE mini split install help!

I think buying it from Amazon was a good decision (it was around $600 for a 9000BTU unit, which had good reviews). The problem is (IMHO) nobody local wants to touch it because they can't make a big profit off of selling you the $600 unit for $1500. Just sayin .... Again, if you can find...
