Pressure cleaning co. cracked concrete roof tiles...Now what?

Ok, so I'm not there yet, but... If the pressure cleaning co. agrees to pay for the roofer, by either putting a claim in with their insurance and/or paying out of pocket... Would you pay the pressure cleaning co's original fee to clean the roof?

Pressure cleaning co. cracked concrete roof tiles...Now what?

Yes, it IS a lot different...But also as I stated in my op in response to his offer to go up and seal them, when I told him I think some tiles may need to be replaced,"He was very apologetic and said 'please let me know, so we can get them done'." That said, no I did not ask for a copy of his...

Pressure cleaning co. cracked concrete roof tiles...Now what?

Thanks! I've got several tiles leftover from the original install 11 years ago, so hopefully they'll be all that are needed. On the written proposal that I accepted, there's no fine print or clause on broken tiles, stating they are not responsible. FWIW: I told the pressure cleaning co...

Pressure cleaning co. cracked concrete roof tiles...Now what?

Hello all, Yesterday, a "licensed and insured" pressure cleaning co. that I hired to soft wash the white concrete tile roof on my 2-story house came out for the job. The owner was alone doing the job and put a ladder going from the first roof to the second. Not long after he started the job...

    Edging/small retaining wall?

Thanks! It probably makes sense to break this down to 2 different projects: 1) While leaving room for new fence, install small retaining wall/edging on slope between pool pump and driveway, from fence gate opening down to where 90 degree turns up into yard. 2) Remove existing rotted 2x4 paver...

    Edging/small retaining wall?

Hello all, Loss of a wooden fence along slightly sloped driveway, exposed the need for edging and/or small (approx 6"+) retaining wall, to keep soil under the slightly elevated ground, where the pool pump leads to backyard, from sliding onto driveway. I also need to go 90 degrees up from...

How would you connect new range hood?

No, no...Thank YOU! Yes, the hood is fed through metallic flexible conduit, run from the panel. That said, how would you connect the new range hood's 3 wires to the existing 2 wires?

How would you connect new range hood?

Thanks! I don't see anything folded back and clipped, as you describe. Wider shot of existing range hood wiring (blue arrows) inside kitchen: Wider shot of sub-panel, where existing range hood black & white wires are being fed into conduit, at red arrow. Photo #1 20A breaker that is...

How would you connect new range hood?

Thanks! True, the 20A breaker has both the existing range hood & refrigerator, connected to it. There's a similar breaker beneath it, which is OFF, as it's connected to a non-existent vacuum motor. You mean this? Existing black and white range hood wire being fed into conduit, in panel...

How would you connect new range hood?

Hello all, Removed old range hood, and preparing to install a new range hood only, no microwave. However, the existing range hood & refrigerator are currently sharing a breaker and there's no ground on existing wiring in kitchen, from panel. The new range hood will be hard wired and...

    Thermostat clicks but nothing happens

Thanks! Definitely, will keep an eye on, in future, now that I know. One issue, if it happens again is, I won't have enough wire to reach contact.

    Thermostat clicks but nothing happens

I replaced the breaker ($59 at local electric supply store) and repaired the wire, in the condenser, as recommended...I now have a/c! Total out of pocket $123 ($64 diagnostics + $59 breaker) vs. quote of $350 = SAVINGS of $227! Thanks to all, who helped along the way!

    Thermostat clicks but nothing happens

OK, I bit the bullet and called in a tech for a service call. He came out and first checked the thermostat and then went right for the breaker inside the air handler, at top...Power coming in...No power going out. Then he went outside to the condenser and found a wire burnt out, at the top...

Vintage 9" Radial Arm Saw Worth Keeping?

Definitely going to keep and BE CAREFUL, when using i.e. no ripping. :nono: That said, I can only go by the owner's manual but I was surprised to read that it can also be used for the following: ROUTING AND DOVETAILING Routing and dovetailing are accomplished with the motor indexed and locked...

    Which coupon would you use?

If you know you need a repair (see: http://www.houserepairtalk.com/showthread.php?t=21163), but it's also time to have your yearly "tune up", during which the tech will obviously find an issue... Which coupon would you use? 1) FREE a/c service call *with repair* Valid with repair only. Coupon...

    Thermostat clicks but nothing happens

Thanks! A bit confused and preparing to call ac tech but here's what I checked: 1) Pulled purple fuse partially out, just enough so that I can get my multi meter probe to make contact with the "blade" on the fuse. READINGS: Touched the red probe to one side of the fuse and got no reading...

Vintage 9" Radial Arm Saw Worth Keeping?

Hmm? Apparently, CPSC, Emerson Tool Co. Announced Recall of Craftsman® Radial Arm Saws Sold by Sears, Roebuck and Co. because the radial arm saws were sold without a guard that covers the entire blade. The recalled Craftsman® 8-, 8?-, 9- and 10-inch radial arm saws have a model number...
