    Mysterious Rodent?

Jeff, thanks for the suggestions. I tried the "V" shape orientation that you suggested and have noticed the mouse have been trying to get close but always backing away. Perhaps they are not used to the new orientation. The good news is that I have another snap trap in my kitchen cabinet on...

    Mysterious Rodent?

Thank you Jeff. I will try the narrow part of the "V" towards the wall with the jaws facing the wall and will report back. Yesterday, I tried gluing the bait to the trap and it did manage to catch 2 mice because they had to put pressure on the plate which tripped it. Later in the day, other...

    Mysterious Rodent?

Jeff, I moved the trap around and tried your "V" pattern like you suggested. The mouse kept on out smarting the trap. Here is what I have seen over and over again. Eventually, I glued the food to the trap and got the second one via snap trap. This totals six mice caught. Hopefully that's...

    Mysterious Rodent?

So far, my experience has not been the same. The cheese gets abandoned and they never touch the trap again. So far, every new mousetrap I put in, I catch only one mouse except for the two babies in the live trap.

    Mysterious Rodent?

Jeff, thank you for the suggestion. Bill, I have the Tomcat version of those traps. I only caught one adult mouse and they would not dare to eat from the trap again. I found a trap online like the one attached from an old design and decided to make it. This morning, I caught 1 more adult...

    Mysterious Rodent?

Jeff, I don't know what to tell you. This is the first time I got mice in the house and boy oh boy, they are smart.

    Mysterious Rodent?

So far, I have only caught one mouse with the snap trap. Two in a live trap. It has been almost a week since the last catch. Originally, I put food on the snap trap and not set the trap so the mouse would think it is safe to eat there and one day, I will set the trap and it snaps on them...

    Mysterious Rodent?

I caught 2 more little mice in a live trap. My wife said she saw more. :-( I guess my hunting expedition is not over.

    Mysterious Rodent?

Today I caught a mouse in a snap trap. I initially put the food on the trap but without setting it so the mouse will get used to eating there thinking it is safe. Later in the day (assuming the old food was gone), I set the spring on the trap and the mouse fell for it. I set up another trap...

    Damn ANTS!! Nothing works!

I started with the outdoor terro baits. It got too expensive to keep on replacing it so I refilled it with my own. This was what I used as the container. When the lid eventually cracked, I just replaced it with aluminum foil...

    Damn ANTS!! Nothing works!

I have an ant problem too. I have created my own ant bait. It is not as good as Terro but it seems to have lessen the numbers coming into the house. Here is my recipe. Boric Acid: 2.5g Sugar: 25g Water 75g That's for a small amount. If you want more, feel free to multiple all numbers by...

    Mysterious Rodent?

The glue traps will be absolutely last resort if nothing else works. I am trying to make it as painless as possible.

    Mysterious Rodent?

I find it hard to believe a mouse will can dig into concrete and past the base plate of the wall framing. It is nowhere near cold out here. The last two weeks, it has been in the high 80's to 97 the other day. I've been setting traps out and the creature is tripping the cage door but is...

    Mysterious Rodent?

My wife claims she saw a mouse under the kitchen cabinet. There are droppings that look like mouse droppings. Today, I discovered someone digging under the baseboard of the wall where the crack in the concrete slab as there are little rocks (more like pebbles all over under the funiture). I...

Is running EMT under the eave of the house considered out doors and I have to use waterproof couplers?

Thanks for responding. To address some of the issues that was brought up. 1. The current cable company installed CAT5e outdoors without a conduit which I am fine with. The reason I am putting it into EMT because these will be security cameras and I don't want somebody to easily cut it. 2...

Is running EMT under the eave of the house considered out doors and I have to use waterproof couplers?

Thank you Snoonyb. I am not going to hose down and the soffit areas of my house for obvious reasons. According to your response, the NEC code saids if it is outdoors even though sheltered, I am required to use watertight fittings?

    Attach outlet extender

Of course, make sure you do not overload the circuit. If you do, the chance of fire could result.

Is running EMT under the eave of the house considered out doors and I have to use waterproof couplers?

Thanks for the response Snoonyb. I understand code tries to make things idiot proof. At the same time, code is not an exhaustive list to account for everything that may happen. My question was, because EMT is outdoors under an eave, does code still require watertight coupling even though it...

    Attach outlet extender

Are you referring to the 1 to 3 outlet adapter? If so, they make a 6 outlet version with a screw in the middle.
