Glenn, Thanks for the info. I may let it go for a while, but I think I'll have it fixed in the fall. The heat pump puts out cold enough air when it's on heat - I dont want the fan on all the time pushing ambient temp air around!

I have a heat pump system and the fan wont shut off. I have a digital thermostat and I have set it to "OFF". The fan is set to "AUTO" (choices are AUTO/ON). I can pull the thermostat off the wall leaving the base with the wires connected and the fan still wont shut off. The outside unit is not...
