Please School Me on Washers & Dryers...

The dryer is starting to die and the washer is on it's last legs as they are both 15 years old Kenmore... Went to Sears & Lowe's & the Mrs seemed to like the front load ones better, but I've read about problems with em leaking/seals going bad & bearings wearing over a couple years. Of the...

    Help....Broken Shower Pipe Thingie

The tiles were more than expected & ended up cleaning em & just packing in a little "extra" mud :p Grout will be dry tomorrow & will then seal it...have covered the tiles with a blue tarp & have been using the shower, keeping it cool as to not get much steam on the grout. This bathroom...

    Help....Broken Shower Pipe Thingie

Nestor, you are my hero :trophy: We are in Wyoming, (see you are in Winnipeg, the wife is from Regina) don't know if anybody round here deals with Kissler but you never know. Would never have thought of cutting out the front of the shower instead of ripping apart the closet wall & going in from...

    Help....Broken Shower Pipe Thingie

Well, managed to try the file trick....all it did was chunk up the plastic to the point the file hit the threads of the elbow & buggered them up a tad. Does not look like there is anything left of the plastic pipe to get a good bite of...and the threads look really fine in the elbow.. Don't...

    Help....Broken Shower Pipe Thingie

Thanks for setting me straight as you can tell I'm a total klutz when it comes to home repair.:help: :p Never realized you were talking about the head of the file instead of the handle, that makes more sense to me now  Heating the back of the elbow via a funnel is also a novel idea, was...

    Help....Broken Shower Pipe Thingie

Thanks Nestor, the pipe is free standing & bounces around, will take your advice and snake a coat hanger over it to pull/hold it tight  Have the thing soaking in PB blaster now...hopefully that will help loosen things up a tad. Found these on line @ home depo & was thinking about...

    Help....Broken Shower Pipe Thingie

Youngest girl child was taking a shower and the shower head/arm broke.... How in the world can I fix this...the pipe was plastic & is stuck inside the elbow behind the back of the shower...the pipe itself seems to be free standing, it's not attached to anything..and only a small closet/pantry...

    What Paint for Entry Door/Sidelight

Was thinking it's some kind of install problem, will call the manager back today after I get out of bed since I work nights and it's almost nap time. They used some kind of white foam on the top of the door, did not see what if anything they put around the other 3 sides before the new trim...

    What Paint for Entry Door/Sidelight

The door is a fiberglass Pella door with the included sidelight, it's sealed all the way around the edged and does not need to be painted at all. The frame can be painted and am waiting for a warmer/nice day to do that. Humidity round here has been in the 30% to 50% since the install. Might...

    What Paint for Entry Door/Sidelight

Thanks for the tips, did not get any paperwork with the door & was sort of thinking it was a primer coat, but did not know for sure. Now with a mild change in temps the entry door is starting to really stick & this AM I had to push hard on it to open. Ya also have to pull the storm door...

    What Paint for Entry Door/Sidelight

Thanks, here's a crappy cell phone picture of the door: You can barely see the outside trim but all of it is white & not very well painted (really thin and ya can sort of see wood under) so we will be painting all that. Picked up some paint & supplies (but forgot the sandpaper) along...

    What Paint for Entry Door/Sidelight

Just had a Pella fiberglass door & sidelight (solid white fiberglass door & 1/2 window) installed by Lowe's as the old door/sidelight was about worn out. They did a fairly good job installing everything & now we need to caulk and paint the trim & the wood features on the door/sidelight as...

    Question About Window Tinting

    Question About Window Tinting

We just upgraded the entry door to the house with a Pella door and sidelight. Question is, since I hate sidelights, but we are stuck with one, can you get some kind of window tint to darken the glass to help keep out prying eyes???
