    Fence welding

My father in law owned an iron fence company years ago... Good luckwith this project, and I think a 110V mig would be great! I wish I had one at home.... You might get lucky searching some estate sales or craigslist for materials, you could find some pre-made fence sections that you just have...

Cooling the Garage in a Memphis Summer

Now THAT sounds like a PITA... why not just run a 3/4" pvc line along the base of the wall and have it drip out at the corner of the garage door?

Cooling the Garage in a Memphis Summer

the cheapest I have seen the 10,000-12,000btu portables is about $400, and that's the lowest end of the spectrum. I do like the idea of using one of those, and I would need to build a cabinet for it to stand in, and have a high CFM fan as an outlet to the cabinet, so that all 4 registers get...

Cooling the Garage in a Memphis Summer

I just dont know where I would connect into the ducting that is already in teh house. There is a finished room over the garage, making access basically impossible. I just thought about this idea... I know they are expensive, but the portable units use an exhaust hose, I wonder if I could...

Hey Alan the Admin... do you use the alias' Houston or Austin online anywhere else? Cause this chair gets pimped all over the forums online... Just wondering if you are who I think you are... :)

Cooling the Garage in a Memphis Summer

Any ideas? We put our 2 dogs (german shepard and american bulldog) in there when we leave the house, and it gets WAY too hot in there to do that this summer. My solution Saturday was to use a styofoam cooler and taped a fan to the top of it and filled the cooler with ice... worked ok for...

    Garage Colors

I chose warm earthtones to go with the rest of our house. The wood is all stained dark walnut color, again, to match the rest of the house. I think it is important to make the garage "fit"...

    Stripper Pole Installation

So please tell us that the pole is actually for a wife/gf and that you only know it will hold you because you "weight tested" it before you let her try it out...

    Stereo Systems

I just turn on Last.fm from my phone, or shuffle all the songs on my phone (8gb SD card)... when I want it louder, I'll bring out my Computer speakers to plug into my phone... I dont really need anything more than that...

    projector on garage door?

Why not? I think if it was properly secured at the top and bottom, the opening action wouldnt affect it. OR if he is really serious about it staying attached, mount a rod at the top and bottom of the door, sew sleeves (like a flag for the pole) on teh top and bottom of the sheet, and run a rod...

    Backboard for Dartboard

How 'bout... "dont miss the board"? :D Our board came in a wood cabinet, so its pretty rare that either my wife or I get to the drywall... but on occasion even I will ahve one hang a bit on my finger and go way low... :( I second the thick corkboard idea. You could even use a chair-rail...

    BRad's Garage

the problem is in the bond between the old paint and the concrete floor. so going with another layer on top would just give more strength to the peeling layer, and make larger sections peel off at one time. HD will rent out diamond grinders that will take you all the way back to bare...

    BRad's Garage

we did EXACTLY the same thing!!!! I put them down heavier than she wanted, but now you can see the exact outlines of where my "squares" were while painting... I guess my "wet edge" wasnt good enough. BUT, now I have done it once, I know what to do different, and this time next year it will...

Building Wood doors onto Metal Shelves

I feel special having the first thread in the Fab Section. :) These metal shelves were here when we moved in, and they are actually so unstable, that they were screwed into the wall! I started by adding 2x4s between the shelves and the wall to make them stand level, and then started...
