Open Web Floor Truss, Load Bearing Wall Question

My townhouse was built with Top Chord Bearing Open Web Floor Trusses. They are 15' long X 11.5 deep. They are spaced out 22" from one another. I want to take out a 2' wall to open my kitchen. The wall is under one of the trusses running parallel with it. The truss does not have any vertical...

Am I screwed? (Wood Floor Question)

I bought my house with 5/8" bamboo wood floors recently installed. They have started squeaking more and more lately. After pulling a few up to investigate, it seems like they were glued down to some pretty old plywood. The plywood sub floor seems to be moving around a lot causing the floors...

Deflection Problem causing tile to come loose

There is actually a walk-in in the basement. I also have a drop ceiling in the basement that only has about 5 inches of space in-between it and the joists. I can run support poles on the side of my walk-in every 3 feet with a 4x4 running across the top. Do you think the 4x4 would be heavy enough?

    Quarry tile damaged

I have a floor deflection problem that has caused a new quarry tile floor to come loose. It is in a wet environment so water is able to get under the tiles. I am repairing the deflection issues but how should I refinish the quarry tile and grout so that it does not let water through...

Deflection Problem causing tile to come loose

I have a restaurant with a deflection problem on the first floor. The kitchen is 15 wide and is supported with 2x12 joists that are pocketed into cinder block walls. Over the past 3 months that the restaurant has been open the grout and tile is coming loose on the floor due to the deflection...

    Open Joist. Is this safe??

Thanks for all of the help. I wanted to put a gym on my 3rd floor. I will do some more research, but I'm leaning on not doing it from 1 2X4 going into the supporting wall every 2 feet. I have read about load bearing for bedroom floors being as low as 30 psf. :) He does look like you.

    Open Joist. Is this safe??

Thanks Inspector D This seems like it will really affect the load bearing capacity of my floors though. Do you have any idea of what psf load these could take? I can only find load bearing formulas for newer joists that connect at the bottom.

    Open Joist. Is this safe??

No, it is about 15 years old. I bought it about 3 months ago.

    Open Joist. Is this safe??

Thanks ToolGuy. Yeah they are all like this, and it is a 3 story townhouse. This is the only exposed part that is behind the fire place. The rest is behind sheet rock.

    Open Joist. Is this safe??

I was inspecting my house to see what kind of load bearing my floors could take. I have an open joist system that uses 11.75" joists with 24" in-between them. When building the house, the contractor connected the joist to the wall by cutting back the bottom 2X4 so that it does not connect to...
