Water leak detector? Water behind wall!

Thanks for the suggestions guys much appreciated. No driveway outside on problem area just backyard landscaping. I don't see any foundation cracks either along the entire exposed area wall. Luckily my foundation's sill is slightly over 12" above grade until I slope it up some more but that's...

Water leak detector? Water behind wall!

Yep I remember that, but didn't recall anything because I think it involved busting up the wall.

Water leak detector? Water behind wall!

I just realized something. My basement concrete walls have a plastic vapor barrier, insulation, then drywall. Will the FLIR be able to see through that plastic vapor barrier too though?

Water leak detector? Water behind wall!

Ok copy that! I think I'll invest in one of them FILP cameras, looked them up, very pricey! But I suspect the reason for the price tag is because it's the secret weapon of many professional contractors makes sense to me. I've seen the insulation guy use one, the HVAC guy too. Never thought about...

Water leak detector? Water behind wall!

Ok I'll check, but the odds of me having this camera to catch the issue in action is very slim. What about any staining on the concrete? Will a camera see that?

Water leak detector? Water behind wall!

Hi all. Been worrying about this issue for over a year now and still haven't got down to the bottom of it. My visual reference is extremely limited because I have a fully finished basement with drywall everywhere. Except for a small area I left exposed because I ran a new sump pump discharge. In...

Treadmill blowing garage GFCI, why? What to do?

Thanks to everyone for the insight. I ran some tests and even put a huge mat under it and it still tripped the second the motor started. I went and picked up a 14 gauge 20ft extension cord ran it from the standard grounded garage door motor ceiling outlet after peaking inside I see the bare wire...

Treadmill blowing garage GFCI, why? What to do?

It's definitely a metal box but there's drywall up so I don't know if there's any conduit

Treadmill blowing garage GFCI, why? What to do?

I suspected that too BUT It runs fine off the garage door's outlet which is a regular 15A 3-prong on the ceiling.

Treadmill blowing garage GFCI, why? What to do?

I bought a regular 15A 3-prong outlet to swap out the gfci. I realized that my garage door opener is a regular 3-prong. I got an extension cord and ran it to that outlet with no issues at every speed. However, when I pulled the gfci from the wall there's only 2 wires, a blue (going to hot) and...

Treadmill blowing garage GFCI, why? What to do?

Yeah i thought about that but didn't know is there would be the same amount of wires or wires leftover. I'm no electrical guy but can do some novice elec work light swapping fixtures, lights, switches, and outlets but usually of the same type

Treadmill blowing garage GFCI, why? What to do?

Hi all I tried hooking up the wife's treadmill inthe garage but the treadmill keeps popping the gfci! I've done some googlin and some folks say that would happen and a treadmill shouldn't be plugged into a gfci. Why? Second question is, what can I do? There's no other place for the machine and...

    Water issues. Regrading around foundation?

Thanks for the input Steve. Yes I'm aware of the need to distance top of grade from the sill plate, luckily for me though my sill is pretty high up at least 14". I'm hoping adding two French drains, one on side path from back of garage being an "open" French drain on side of house and Back...

    Water issues. Regrading around foundation?

Yep thanks Jeff I was thinking the same thing about using sand. So stupid. I already bought a couple new wells about 24" tall to replace them weak little 10" ones that flood from the bottom up due to poor grade. About adding the clay soils, should I just lay the new soil directly over the...
