    bath paint and shower surround

Hey, been working diligently on the bath. Did find the camera so maybe some pics can be forthcoming. Using the yellow gypsum for walls and ceiling. Coated with fiberglass instead of paper, can't remember who makes it. My question about that is: What would be the best paint process and...

2 questions - vanity light and romex with no power

I do believe there is a circuit for old base board heaters. And that is probably what the dead wires are. I have one circuit that disappears into the wall and affects nothing in the house, whether it is on or off. As for amperage on that circuit, I did calculate out what each item draws...

2 questions - vanity light and romex with no power

Interesting to know I'm not the only one with weird stuff like that. We were incredulous at some of the stuff that was done behind the paneling. I did get the other wiring done last night and everything seems to be working correctly from a current standpoint. Not going to install the...

new here. Glad I found you

Thanks. I hope the Lowe's has 5/8. HAven't seen anything but 1/2, but haven't looked too hard yet either. I'll have to find the camera. Ain't moving fun? I think it may still be at the old house. I think I finished the wiring last night - everything seems to be working, so that's a...

Can you help a newbie renovate the bathroom shower?

Okay, in my case I am kinda free to do anything at this point. What would you suggest? I don't like the masonite bathroom board for the same reasons. Locally, the Lowe's has yellow board, which has no paper. I was going to use that. I don;t think I'm up to tiling yet. At least I'd...

Can you help a newbie renovate the bathroom shower?

If one puts green board up around a shower, how do you finish the edges of the sheetrock? I am assuming the sheetrock goes over the surround? Or does it go behind? If behind, how do you cover the edges of the surround? That's a job I have to face soon. Thanks Randy

new here. Glad I found you

Hey, nice place ya'll got. We've bought a house and the previous owners seemed to let the wheels fall off the wagon when they got to the bath/laundry area. Plus what the sellers billed as the 4th bedroom had no closet. So far, I have boxed in a closet, studded out a real bathroom (no...
