The previous owner of the house I bought covered the entire patio with fake grass, and her little dog used it for a bathroom for lord knows how long. The adhesive used is only haphazardly spot applied, and I bought a floor scraper to try to get it up, but it's still quite gummy and seriously labor intensive Does anyone know if anything that might dissolve it, or harden it up, or anything I can do to get this off? Every time it starts to get warm, whatever is underneath starts to smell.

I don't know but a heat gun might help loosen its grip. If it makes it too gummy adding sand might help. Solvents are available for the purpose but are quite expensive and I haven't tried them.

I have used acetone in a spray bottle plus a scraper on a pole. It is messy and fumes are bad. But acetone does dissolve it
