Does this stone foundation need tuckpointing?

Do these separations between the mortar and stone on the external side of my stone foundation need duck pointing and repair? Or is it just aesthetic? There are separations of the stone and mortar on the outside of the house in several areas, but the inside of the basement looks good and is dry.
