Hi, I am planning on going over my beat up wood floor with LVT.
I have a wood stove insert and I will need to extend the hearth so it doesn't ruin the LVT.
The current clearance from the front of the stove to the wood floor is only about a foot so that's no good either, though I have used the stove almost 24/7 with no problems.
So any ideas? I was thinking about bonding ceramic tile directly to the wood in front of the stove. I can't run the tile over the existing hearth because I need to be able to remove the blower motor cover that is directly under the front of the stove and be able to remove the motor for periodic cleaning.
The other thing I was thinking is running the LVT up to the current border of the hearth and cutting a stove board to go around the stove and extend over the lvt.
