Just pulled the head off of my 535i to do head gasket job. While the head is off and being prepped at the shop, what should I put on the block to keep it from rusting, etc.?
A light spray of WD40 should do the trick. Be sure to wipe down mating surfaces with solvent before putting it back together, as anything that stops rust will keep gasket sealant from sticking.
