Originally I was looking to lighten up this room, which will happen once the paneling is painted and new wood floors are down. (Might be lighter wood, don't know yet.)
The problem is most of the house is brick. The exterior is brick, and the back part of this fireplace does as well but you can only see that inside of the garage. Would you really notice that the brick didn't "match" if a brick home had a white fireplace?
For the record the outside of the home's brick looks lighter than the interior brick. I wish the interior brick were lighter then I'd like it quite a bit more. Thoughts appreciated.
