Central Florida here with my asphalt roofing 2 cents
Bought a house 10 years ago with NEW roof as a selling point. Developed a leak our first month.
Called in the roofer who gladly came out to the house. He had no shoes on and to call him a hillbilly would not be an unfair characterization. He...
I second the Sherwin-Williams. That paint just lasts. It costs more but if you want it to last don't go to a big box for exterior paint.
When you go to asks questions don't go in the morning. They'll be busy with the pro painters and won't have time for a long discussion.
I'll spare you the story, but I went with the nuclear option and used outside granules indoors.
Wal-Mart Eliminator Granules for Fleas/ Ticks / Ants. I paid $2.50 for a red and black canister.
Spread the granules all over problem areas then swept / vacuumed the next day. Problem solved.
In Tampa the going rate for stump grinding is $100 per stump. Best money I spent.
Your opening is more than wide enough to get a machine into the yard.
I tried the potassium nitrate route and it takes too long for any results. The time spent drilling the holes alone is ridiculous.
At the edge of my roof I have a divot. Water backed into the roof when the gutters stopped working.
Rather than approach it from the top --- I don't want mismatched shingles. Can I fix this by working on it from under the eve?
I'm in Florida, it is a cinder block frame with a stucco exterior.
There is no wire, there is no paper.
I'll attach wire to the sides of the hole so the cement has a base, but I feel like something should occupy the empty space? I'm considering fun noodle foam.
Had to break through the stucco to repair a leak that was leading into the house.
The void is quite literally the size of the empty space in a cinder block.
What should I pack the hole with? I would prefer not to use spray foam.
I would like to replace a gold shower door with a more contemporary silver.
Any guess as to how the shower door is attached to the 1 Piece Shower Kit?
Will I be able to easily find a replacement shower door?
Having just dodged a bullet (Irma) in Tampa I am looking into hurricane shutters for the house.
Has anyone installed their own?
Is there any type of certification I should look for when buying the supplies?
Am I saving any real money by doing it myself?
