I would like to add a shower to a 30's era bathtub. I saw an outside mount shower system in the Restoration Hardware catalog that looks like it help avoid installing the plumbing line to the shower inside of the plaster wall. But this "system" is very expensive (as is everything at Restoration Hardware). Does anyone have a suggestion of where I might find the outside mount plumbing lines and fixtures? And would this work? I realize I will need to tile the two walls adjacent to the tub and then figure out a system to contain the water at the end and open side of the tub. I was hoping to find something like the Europeans use--like swinging shower doors rather than a shower curtain.
Thanks for any advice!!
