I bought a 100-yr.old house that was vacant for 4 years. Had every pipe from the main supply line all the way to the sewer replaced. The plumber left the pre-existing AquaBoost 1 system in the house, but it doesn't work properly.
Upon turning on the breaker, the light flashes green then goes red in a few seconds. Then it's completely unresponsive.
But if I hold both the up and down buttons while flipping the breaker, the light stays green and then allows me to make input to increase pressure. The motor spins relatively slowly...a little faster if I push the up button repeatedly, but never very fast. Then after about 10 or 15 seconds, it stops spinning and the light flashes green. The pressure in the system never changes. It stays around 30 psi, which I'm pretty sure is my city's normal pressure.
Actions I've taken:
I have taken the pump apart, soaked the impeller in white vinegar overnight. It seems clean and clear and doesn't seem to be straining the motor.
I have taken the control module apart as far as I'm comfortable to inspect it. No exploded capacitors or any noticeable burned electronics.
I checked the pressure in the bladder tank with the pump and tank unit isolated (closed shutoff valves for the loop) and the pressure released from the lines. It seems fine-- around 30 psi
Does anyone have any ideas on what is a common problem causing this? Or is there a repair manual anywhere? I searched online with no luck. I emailed Goulds, but they didn't respond.
Any help would be appreciated.
