We have black alge growing on our metal roof.
M'Lady thinks it is very unsightly.
I agree.
It is.
It doesn't bother me as much as it does her.
But, I've seen where either a snail or slug has been eating the alge from the roof.
Our roof is the source for our catchment water supply.
Snails and slugs are the vector that can infect people with Rat Lungworm.
They will not be tolerated on the roof or in the gutters.
We've taken some estimates for pressure washing the roof and gutters.
The problem is that no one in our area is licensed or insured.
I will not put our home at risk.
I'm back to thinking about doing it myself again.
The first question that comes to mind, other than fall protection, is about dealing with a slippery roof surface.
I'm wondering if a pair of felt soled wading shoes might do the job, maybe a canvas drop cloth?
Thoughts, suggestions, other options?
