How’s it going ? So I had my deck built June of 2021. Had a company come stain in mid April of this year. They totally botched job. Ended up using Benjamin Moore Remove , than Neutrilize / Brighten combo to remove the stain. They had a power wash company come and remove by power washing and not deck brush as said by B.M company … Botched that job and now have groves and divots though out the wood.

After a lot of back and forth, they pole and hand sanded last week ( looked like crap ) and now they are currently sanding the deck but it just seems wrong ( I could be ). They using palm sander , osolating one also. Not going with grain and I would think the swirling motions would be shown in the wood after no ? Machines were told to be used by owner of another company.

Overall question is. How much damage did they do the Pt deck with using that Benjamin Moore chemical and power washing the deck to begin with , since the deck is only 1 year old next week.
2. Is this the correct method for sanding ?

Thanks and sorry for long post.

Deck looks pretty good to me.
Some boards have some face-checks, but that is expected on pressure-treated pine.

Best that could be expected, except those grade marks that should have been sanded off before staining.
Use a transparent or semi- transparent stain and every flaw will show through and will not last as long.
