I have an old coal burning fireplace that I am trying to repurpose. The fireplace was inspected (attached) and recommended a complete reline and rebuild with bell for Ahrens fireplace. After recovering from the shock value of pricing those, I am leaning towards an insert. We do not have gas run to the house so I would like something that could burn a few logs. Any suggestions?
