I live in Montreal, Canada. My plumber installed piping and a sump pump to carry water from a 3-inch pit / water table below my house. Because the original piping apparently was condemned my plumber diverted the water through a 4 feet vertical pipe. Anyways, the check pump makes a horrible clanging sound every time it works. Much to my delight, I found out that there are silent check valves. My plumber is a bit skeptical, saying that spring action check valves may not be as robust. Anyways, i have to do something about the noise. So he has agreed to install a silent check valve for 1.5 inch piping if I find one to order. I live in Canada so hopefully I can order it from here.
Please let me know any experience you have with silent check valves and which one you would recommend. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
-Charles
