Hi guys,
I am new to the site. I have a ceiling electric heat unit that will turn on but will not turn off when the t-stat tells it to. it was installed new about four years ago and has not acted up any untill recently. At first I thought it was the t-stat and replaced it with a new one. Still will not turn off. I can here the t-stat click when the desired temp is reached but the heater keeps blowing hot air. However, If I turn the t-stat to the off position, it will then cycle off. It sounds to me like there is a relay or limit switch hanging close and allowing the heat element and blower motor to stay on when the t-stat sends a signal to turn off. How can I test the unit and how difficult is it to replace the relay or limit switch?
Thanks for any help, Mike
