is there a nailgun in the market that doesnt need a compressor? I need one for small projects like putting together a wooden planter or small jobs around the house thanks

There are any number of vendors who offer gas as well as impulse nailguns; HITACHI, MILWAUKEE, RIDGID, DEWALT, FASTEN-ALL, ETC.

I have HITACHI and RIDGID, both gas and impulse.

If you're looking at it for home use, and trim nailing, I'd go for a kit from Porter Cable, Dewalt, Ridgid, etc that includes a trim nailer and a compressor. An air compressor is just a darn handy tool to have around the house.

Here's one that would be good for a lot of different projects around the house. If you decide to get a framing nailer at some point this will be enough to power it. Get a longish hose so you can put the compressor outside or in another room when you're using it. Get a few air tool accessories like a tire inflation nozzle, air nozzle for blowing out sawdust, drywall dust and the like from your saws and rotozips.

If you were doing it for a living I might go the cordless ones, but they're a bit more pricey and they are more expensive to run because you need to buy the cartridges in addition to the nails. They're also heavier.
