Planning on installing a water softener system in the next couple weeks. I'm on city water. I will also be installing a sediment and carbon filter. When I look at pictures of similar set up's, many have what I can only assume is a carbon filter downstream of the softener. From what I've read, putting it before the softener tank to remove chlorine will help with the longevity of the resin, but diminish the life of the carbon filter. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with this?
