Hello,

I am a novice DIY'er and I having problems knowing how to replace some broken tile in my living room.

One end of our living room goes out to to our backyard through sliding glass doors. Our living room floor is raised about 1-2 inches above our sliding Glass door. Anyways, the tiles at the edge of our living room are broken and coming apart and I would like to know the best way of replacing them and how do I match the color of the grout?

Thanks,

Chris

Welcome TriorDie:
Taking up the old tiles is the hardest part. It is best to try to rake out all the grout between the subject tiles and those surrounding them, then remove the old tiles very carefully. And PLEASE, wear eye protection.
Matching the old grout is almost impossible; you can only hope to get close and maybe time will blend the colors.

If these tiles are directly in front of the door you could inlay a different tile and grout color.

I had a handyman do it in my case. It didn't seem particularly easy.

Thanks.

Lal.
