I am going to drill a small hole around where the toggle bolt is to make sure it isn't touching anything. I am starting to really think that this could just be interference from the surge protector giving false readings. It just seems odd that it only reads when the surge protector is plugged...
I tested and I am getting 1 volt at the screw. I drilled a hole around it to make sure no wires were touching the toggle bolt or screw. any reason that this would happen?
So use the (negative)neutral lead in the 3rd prong of the outlet and place the other (positive) lead on the screws or the bracket and that should tell me if any voltage is running through the bracket or screw?
I am going to try a voltage meter once i get home and see if it truly has voltage running through the bracket or not. It just seems odd that only when the items are plugged does it show some sort of AC behind the wall
