The sticky cushion-y stuff that goes around my service door is becoming un-sticky and keeps falling off. Forgive me, for I do not know what this stuff is called.

Do I need to buy some more or buy some type of glue to get to stick again?
 
What happens if you wash a patch with water? Sometimes it retains stickyness.
 
What do you mean wash a patch with water?
Are you saying he should try and add some water to the sticky side of the stuff?
