    Bench testing a 24v transformer

What does your pilot flame look like? It should be a strong(not necessarily big) flame directed towards the thermocouple. If it’s a lazy, candeling flame that may be a problem. Shoot a burst of compressed air down the pilot hood where the flame begins. You can dislodge some debris and usually...

What is this, and can I continue using it for a gas line?

Our electric grid is already taxed here in CA and the addition to EV’s and banning natural gas in the future is an absolute joke. I can’t stand our governor.

What is this, and can I continue using it for a gas line?

A ban doesn’t mean they agree with the change. I talk to a lot of customers while working in the field that don’t want electric ranges. The same people who are green energy types. I have heard an electric oven is better for baking but most everyone can agree that a gas range top burner is more...

What is this, and can I continue using it for a gas line?

Depending on where you live, if you have power outages you can still cook on the range top lighting the burners with a match. Not the oven, however. Who likes cooking on electric!?👎🏻gas ovens also do the same to maintain heat settings. They come on, shut off, etc…

What is this, and can I continue using it for a gas line?

I would install a ball valve as well. Avoid the csst if you can. The ends need to be done correctly to not leak. Depending on your skills I would DIY it.

What is this, and can I continue using it for a gas line?

No, I would replace it with black pipe. Nat gas and copper don’t like each other much like galvanized for water pipes

Samsung Gas Range - Oven Temperature Fluctuates

Is this a gas or electric oven? A gas burner will cycle on & off and is normal. How many degrees over/under does it fluctuate?

    Faucet handle replacement options

I was happy to get 2 new handles, cartridges for both, a few minutes later I was back in business. All is well. Great customer support. No questions asked about a receipt or when I bought them.

    Faucet handle replacement options

Yeah I wasn’t planning on replacing the cartridges only because the valves turn like butter, it doesn’t drip or leak. Thanks for the knowledge!

    Faucet handle replacement options

Well that was pretty painless. I talked to a rep from Moen on the phone and it sounds like this may be a common issue or just trying to keep me as a customer as they are sending me 2 new handles + cartridges! Good deal. My cartridges are fine, not dripping and I can turn them by hand but that’s...

    Faucet handle replacement options

Well, I thought I was looking at the correct manual for my bathroom faucets but it’s actually for the jacuzzi tub. Turns out I have a Moen (Darcy model) after a bit of research. So now I have to call them and see if I can buy just the handles.

    Faucet handle replacement options

Yeah, I have my doubts. What is a good replacement for a fixture? Something with good support! Delta? Kohler? Moen?

    Faucet handle replacement options

Well I’m with you, I prefer not to buy Chinese crap but it’s what I got. The valves turn fine. I just need some stinking handles! Do they sell replacements?

    Faucet handle replacement options

I’m needing to replace my bathroom faucet handles as they have become seized due to the washer getting damaged. I had to use pliers just to get the 2 halves to rotate which allowed me to get them off. They are Glacier Bay, Home Depot specials. There is no set screw that holds these on and have...

Best work boots - who makes them?

My company gives us a boot allowance and decided to try these because the Redwings that I love, would take like 6 months to reorder. Bought them for the simple fact they were the closest to what I had and made in USA. Not a fan of the ‘tongue’ being stitched to the sides. I cut mine. They also...

Where to place T in down run for 2 floor register [heat]?

I’m no HVAC contractor but if I were doing it I would put a wye (Y) connector up midway or towards the top, then plumb away. Y connections have less resistance for flow. I plumbed all my own registers 10 years ago in my house when I bought it. Finally added AC to the the existing furnace(long...
