    Low water pressure

City water. (Small farm town) Whole house is copper except where the softener lines were routed in pex. 1/2" copper. Faucets don't have aerators on them. All faucets have bad pressure but worse upstairs. I'll pick up a gauge tomorrow and let you know.

    Low water pressure

I don't have a gauge in the system anywhere. I know what 50psi should feel like and our pressure is not that. I can stop the water with my finger at the faucet.

    Low water pressure

So we've just moved into our first home and are finding issues which hopefully are correctable. Our water pressure is low, below 40 psi for sure. Would the water softener reduce line pressure? Can I fit a booster pump to boost line pressure to 50-60psi? Will copper pipes withstand higher...

    AC Misting System

There is a kickstarter project from Toronto at the moment. It seems like a great idea and I'm wanting to do the same thing. I figured I'd use the water after our sediment filter with a solenoid inline connected to the fan so it would open when the fan turned on. It would be low pressure with...

    Vacant house security

TP-Link smart plugs are programmable through the Kasa app which is free. The smart plugs don't cost a lot in my opinion. You could plug in a radio and lamps. These are connected to and controlled by wifi. I can turn our smart plugs on at anytime from anywhere in the world as long as I have a...

    Linseed oiled deck.

Thanks bud16415 and everyone else for their advice. I will definitely have a look at the Behr products.

    Linseed oiled deck.

At $56 CAD a gallon Tung Oil is not cheap, requires sanding between coats and did I mention sanding between coats? Not that easy on a deck with railings. I'm going to look into commercial wood oil and see what's available.

    Linseed oiled deck.

Is Danish and Tung oil the same thing? I've used Tung oil on furniture inside and it dries hard with exposure to air. I like that finish but not sure how it holds up to outdoor weather.

    Linseed oiled deck.

So a little digging and I found the wood in the above pic is Tigerwood. It looks amazing but still I'm trying to achieve something similar with an oiled finish. I don't mind reapplying oil every year if I have to.

This is the effect I'm trying to achieve. Pic from google under oiled decks.

    Linseed oiled deck.

I'm going to be pressure washing and sealing an existing deck before winter and am considered sealing it with linseed oil. I'm interested in linseed oil as it's used on wood trim on yachts. I'm looking for a natural finish that shows the grain and has a shine to it. Does anyone have experience...

First time home owners in Ontario

We've just bought our first home in a small farming community in Southern Ontario. It's a wartime home and in great condition. I'm going to be asking a ton of questions from deck sealing, gardening and basement modelling to poured concrete pathways. I look forward to the advice. Thanks Colin
