So I have started pulling up my old carpet to put down hardwood flooring. My question is there are a bunch of staples that was holding down the foam padding. Should I remove those or hammer them down? I have been hammering down the names that sticking up as know that much.

Looking to put a piece of foam board between the floor joists and then a strip on insulation. So it would be foam board against the sub floor then insulation. Better or worse as far as the insulation properties? A;lo thinking about putting a piece of foam board at the rim joist as well...
