    A Vitamin-C Story

I hope he hasn't killed anyone yet. Some doctors are finally getting on to Bayesian Reasoning & Evidence Based Medicine. The computer does the Bayes' calcs for them, if they are not too proud to use it. Bayesian analysis in the diagnostic process Abstract A diagnosis is made by a process in...

    It's running rich.

    Random malfunction on Rheem furnace.

Hopeful, not curious to me. You mechanically disturbed something that was loose. You now may be able to reproduce the fault whenever you want to if you can retrace your steps. You are close. Connections that are supposed to be insensitive to the pressure of your test prod at sensitive. If...

Water on outside of high efficiency Goodman Furnace?

Can you somehow divert the water with sheet metal baffles? https://homeguides.sfgate.com/causes-furnace-flue-condensation-89027.html If it gets on internal elec. connectors you will have knotty problems. I had a connector that measured 60 megohms instead of the typical 5 milliohms.

    A Vitamin-C Story

IIRC, leg edema can mean right side heart failure. Many symptoms can be from one cause & vice versa. Med stuff is harder than engineering design & HVAC design. More interface with these pesky humans! :D

    Random malfunction on Rheem furnace.

Mr. Raindem, you're closer to this than we are. Can you summarize for us what's been tried, how often & the outcome & what's left to reasonably try? BTW, you seemed to have posted your AC schematic. We need the other one.

    A Vitamin-C Story

I'm surprised we're debating this with no one going Postal. Good for us. With my kid it's not possible, it's either win/lose/draw or forfeit. All her tuition & child support down the drain. :( With her, the intelligence axis is "1. of or involving right angles; at right angles. 2...

    Random malfunction on Rheem furnace.

^ EZ checks & fast & no risk but you may need a small mirror. :)

    What did you do today?

Apparently my ISP in collusion with my computer OEM keeps moving my Google bookmark down on the list of favorites & puts the OEM ads in its place. So I bookmarked a popular site & put in a false obscene title with phonetically-spelled words in its place so a computer cannot flag these words...

Do I miss a header above the window?

The window top piece must somehow be protected from the considerable downward force. Otherwise the top piece would be bowed & the glass would crack. I guess inspectors are not required to infer things. Run a straightedge or a taut piece of dental floss along the window top & look for waviness...

    Window doesn't close

Hinge free play is very likely in a 15 yr old window, IMO. I guess you could drill out the pins/rivets & replace with larger diameter pins. . .if you can find such things. :(

Fix or replace? Sounds like 70-30, replace-fix.

    What did you do today?

And supposedly I have an inverted T wave. As long as I can put out a decent amount of physical & mental work, I don't care. And bradycardia, but I personally think it means I'm in good physical shape. Not all med people agree with this, tho. I get an EKG any time I go in a hospital so I...

Apparently you have survived this long not trusting docs & I have survived this long trusting docs. One conclusion may be that trust doesn't matter, but that seems unlikely.

    Random malfunction on Rheem furnace.

IIRC K is used to designate a relay. On the circuit board? Or this a relay integrated with the gas valve? Is that the same as a solenoid? >>My two 1 cu in relays are mounted on the board. A massive relay may be mounted on the furnace metal. A relay -controlled by the control board supplies...

    Window doesn't close

Sounds like sagging, but that's unlikely. See if the diagonal measurements are equal.

    On the 200mVdc scale.

    Help flushing air out

And hope it closes again, like all infrequently-used valves. I'm afraid to test the TP relief valve on our WH.

    Random malfunction on Rheem furnace.

Mine does, to 3 coils. I also ohm-ed out the coils. By now I have a whole notebook on my ancient furnace. But IIRC there are valves that work on 28 mV & 750 mV. BTW, at least one tech we had did not know what a SPST switch is. They just replace modules. Maybe the company CEO had schooling...

    A Vitamin-C Story

"Around two-thirds of respondents to a global survey rated doctors as trustworthy, according to the Ipsos Global Trustworthiness Index 2021." But there was the Tuskegee Experiment. I don't know what to say about this. I do know antibiotics saved me from taking a week to die in great agony at...
