Bubbling toilet

I was finished washing dishes, so I let the water drain.

At the same time, I needed to use the toilet. So, I went to the downstairs toilet, and before using it, I noticed bubbles were coming out from the water in the bowl.

What is causing this? Should I be concerned?

This might be a coincidence and the trouble is in your toilet only. I would check the toilet at other times, then do the same sink draining to see if the bubble come back. It could be as simple as a worn flush mechanism in your toilet ... cheap and easy to fix.

It bubbled while the sink drained. Normally, just sitting there, it doesn't bubble. Are you saying the next time I drain the sink to check it out again?

If it does happen, it is the toilet flush valve that is the issue?
