I am putting large patio stones down along my house and garage. I believe they are 18''x30''. I know I should dig down and fill in with gravel. How deep is the minimum I should dig down?

I'd suggest adding about 4" of gravel and then 2" of sand. To ensure it's the right amount you should measure the length of your walkway as well as the depth and width. Then multiply them together and you have your cubic footage. To be on the safe side though you should always add around five percent. I hope this answers your question!

Look at this video, the suggestion you have been given is not correct.

#1, 2" is to much sand!
