I had never heard of a dripless caulk gun until I started hunting for a high thrust-ratio gun (recommended by Total Boat for use with their Thixo epoxy adhesive). This thing is GREAT! It really does stop extruding product the moment I take pressure off the trigger*. I have used it with Dap Alex Fast Dry, Dap Dynaflex Ultra, and Big Stretch and ll work the same. The biggest surprise is how much more control it gives me to get just the right amount of caulk. That control likely is partly because I bought the 18:1 thrust ratio gun ($21 at Home Depot) so squeezing the trigger is all but effortless.
*Though when I go to cap off the tube there is always a tiny amount sticking out of the end.
