I have 5 outlets in our main room in the basement on 2 separate walls and a small room in the basement with 3 outlets and the overhead light that do not work. I have checked the breakers and reset all of our gfi outlets...any suggestions?

Some breakers don't appear to be kicked but have to be turned off and then on to reset them.

Maybe another GFI somewhere in the home?

Could be a loose wire in the breaker box or in the outlet or switch box or what ever is closest to the breaker box.

Turn off the main breaker and remove the cover of the breakers and tighten the screws that hold the black or red wires in the breakers and the screws that hold the white wires to the bus and the bear wires to that bus. You will be looking for a problem with a 15 amp breaker , they should all have wire the same size so you can ignore the big wires.

When you take the cover off the box, remember that the main wires (at the top) are still HOT. Be careful.
