posts that hold up saplings

I have seen the local municipality using wooden posts to hold up saplings planted. They stick out about 4-6 feet above ground and look to be around 2+ inches in diameter. Anyone know where I'd find them?

It might be cheaper just to buy treated 2x2s I'm guessing Lowes would have both.
