Last week 10 of us from church went to eastern NC to a little town called Windsor to help Carolina Rebuilding Ministries convert part of a school into a volunteer center to allow them to put 50 volunteers up overnight for helping repair homes in the fairly poor section of NC about 2 hours from Raleigh and 90 minutes from the Outer Banks. Not much going on here but cotton, soy beans, chicken farming, and logging. There is a paper mill but it went from 3000 employees to 300 over the past decade.

Here are a few pictures, before and after, of the teacher's room we were converting into a shower room for volunteers. It will hold 7 showers when finished. We got all the drains run and about 2/3s of the sub floor laid. We spent the first couple of days doing demolition in the rest of the school. We'll likely go back this fall to help with their rebuilding ministry. Hard sell to go do it in the summer though with 95F and 95% relative humidity.
