It's keeping things cool or frozen for certain. I now have it set at -2/35, the only setting that seems to keep the ref from going above 41. In the last 18 hours, the freezer range has been -7 to -1. The ref is steady at 40-41.

No it's an adhesive. Troweled on , it does not harden. Good for carpet tiles as they can be removed when necessary and replaced with a new tile without new adhesive.
