Hi guys!
It's been years since I've been on here. Long boring dumb story....
So I had posted slight drywall cracks years ago, but fast forward to this week and my slight crack is now worse.
I don't know what type of person to contact to come and look at it.
I keep hearing rumbling noises.... I am willing to admit that I'm paranoid a little about this.
Take a look at the pics and tell me what you think. The original crack is in my albums

Top floor bathroom with roof built with engineered trusses. Is Huntington in a state or BC.

Huntington is in a state. This is a single story home.... I read about truss lift. Would that cause the rumbling? My mother also said she thought she heard what sounded like wind in the attic recently.... also, the house was built in 1979

I should also mention that the house does have a sag in the center of it.... it appears to have been addressed when looking in the crawlspace. No other cracks seem any worse, the sag does "seem" any worse either

Huntington BC is built on a reclaimed swamp and it is like living on a waterbed, almost:hide:

Truss lift would be slow and lift in the winter and settles down in the summer. You would first want to know if you have trusses or rafters. If you can get a nose and a camera up there for a picture we should be able to se the difference fairly quickly.
The noise I think might be something else. Critters??

I live in the USA, actually across the river from Huntington West Virginia in Proctorville ohio...
I'll see if I can get a peek in the attic in a bit, I'm ba ysitting... lol
The sound sort of sounds like an office chair rolling across a wooden floor.... and we did get ALOT of rain
recently

Ok... I couldn't get up to look in the attic... I think I may have a few pics on here... I'll look.... the noise is driving me nuts... this last time it kind sounded like a thin piece of metal whipping in the air.
I'm off to find pics of the attic

Have you done a walk around the outside for visual inspection? Some flashing or siding can be lost to high winds?????

I found an area where the sort it is rotten and hanging near the service entrance wire.... maybe that's where the sound is coming from.... I'm going to attempt to staple some plastic up there today as it's wet and snowy/rainy and see if that noise stops. And then I'll try to repair that next week when I'm off again

Where is that compared to the picture you posted.

How do you feel about getting to that area in the attic to check for moisture or what have you?

To me, it sounds like a loose piece of gutter, or fascia, or soffit. I doubt the sound is related to the cracks in the drywall. I'd check for loosetrim on the outside if it were me.

And Shan, don't be such a stranger here.
